Hi, I’m Miha Umek. Since August 2020 I have been reviewing consumer tech on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook — in Slovenian, for a Slovenian audience.
It started because friends kept calling me before they bought anything: a phone, a TV, a set of speakers. Eventually I figured I might as well answer on camera instead of over the phone.
Who watches
My viewers are Slovenian-speaking people who are about to spend their own money on a device and want a straight answer first. It is a small market, but a specific one: someone sitting through a review of a Wi-Fi router is not browsing, they are deciding.
Because everything is in Slovenian, I reach people that English-language reviews largely do not.
YouTube is where the long reviews live, but TikTok is where the audience is growing fastest at the moment — short, direct takes on a single product, and a following I am actively building. Instagram runs alongside both, which means a partnership does not have to stop at one video.
What I cover
Phones, cameras, routers and Wi-Fi gear, headphones (both everyday and gaming), speakers, keyboards, smartwatches and whatever else is worth a closer look. Alongside the reviews I post VLOGs from behind the scenes — PC builds that do not always go smoothly, and gaming events such as Epicenter and Game Gang.
Where I post
- YouTube — full-length reviews and VLOGs. The main channel.
- TikTok — short takes on a single product, and the fastest-growing part of my audience.
- Instagram — reels, stories and what I am testing right now.
- Facebook — the same posts for the audience that follows me there.
How I review
No spec sheets copied off a manufacturer’s website. I use the device, and I say what I actually think — including when a product falls short of what its maker hoped for. That is the entire reason people watch, so it is not up for negotiation.
Working together
I am open to:
- Product reviews — you send the device, I test it properly and publish an honest review.
- Sponsored segments — always clearly marked as such.
- Longer-term partnerships rather than one-off placements.
- Giveaways — every December I run a new-year giveaway for my subscribers, with prizes contributed by partners.
What I cannot offer is a guaranteed verdict. If a product disappoints me, I will say so on camera. In my experience that is exactly what makes the recommendation worth something when it is a good one.
For current reach — subscribers, views, how recent videos and TikToks have performed — the channels themselves are the most up-to-date place to look, and I am happy to put figures together on request.
